We are excited to announce a new initiative by Mini Matters called ‘Cloth for a Cause’. We want to do our part in giving back to causes that are close to our hearts. Over the next few months we will be adding a few ‘causes’ towards which we will be contributing a portion of our sales to. We have designed a unique print to represent each cause. 

So, first up, we are proud to announce Sam the Hedgehog. Sam the Hedgehog is a local Autism Acceptance project on a short film that has made his rounds on TV and radio lately. But first, a little backstory: Mini Matters is a family business, founded by two intrepid sisters and their long-suffering husbands, and several years ago, we discovered that our nephew had been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Although initially a bitter pill to swallow, the news has led us on a fascinating journey coming to terms with what this means and we have learnt to celebrate everything autism. As part of this journey, one of the long-suffering husbands, has been working on a short film project about autism called Sam the Hedgehog. Sam is a prickly little character who rolls up in a little ball when he gets overwhelmed. It is a story of a hedgehog raised among sheep and aims to shed light on the experiences of ASD kids and their parents. For more info on the project and a trailer, visit samthehedgehog.com
